About Us
The Archbishop Wood Marching Unit is among the best in the area, having been named champions in the United States Scholastic Band Association and Tournament of Bands. Comprised of over 50 musicians and color guard, the marching unit is a focal point of school spirit, leading the way at pep rallies, football games, and parades.
Many different music programs at Archbishop Wood provide opportunities for competition, social involvement, friendship, community service, teamwork, and discipline. Find the program that is right for you!

Marching Unit The pride of Archbishop Wood is a competitive marching unit comprised of musicians and a color guard. The season begins with mini-camp at the start of the summer and band camp in August. Competitions are from September through November. The marching unit also performs at home football games. Practices are typically 2-3 times per week. Previous band experience is not required. |

Indoor Percussion Ensemble Combines percussion instrumentation with marching drill in an indoor gym facility. Open to all interested band members. Typically competes from February through May. Practices usually held 2 times per week. |

Indoor Color Guard Combines interpretive dance movement and equipment work with flag, sabre, and rifle on an indoor gym floor accompanied by pre-recorded music. Competes from February through May. Practices usually held 2-3 times per week. |

All Catholic Ensembles Students from Archbishop Wood and other Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia audition for seats in concert band, jazz band, orchestra, and chorus. These groups perform at various festivals, and perform in venues such as The Kimmel Center. |

Concert Band Performs for concerts and at special events during the school year such as pep rallies, ceremonies, prospective student visitations, and graduation. |

Show Band Provides music accompaniment for two musical theater productions each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. |

Praise and Worship Group Performs for various school liturgies and events. Both singers and musicians are welcome. |
|
Choir Vocalists present concerts and perform at special events during the school year. |
